A highlight of this auction is a painting by the German-Norwegian painter and architect Franz Wilhelm Schiertz (1813–1887). Schiertz studied at the Dresden Academy of Art as a student of the Norwegian painter Johan Christian Clausen Dahl (1788–1857). He visited Sweden and Norway repeatedly, drawing inspiration for his paintings from their scenic landscapes.

His works depict idealized, weighty landscapes.
