Contemporary vellum, somewhat worn and spotted. Some minor marginal dampstaining, minor foxing. Signature on inside of upper cover "ex libris Ioannis Francisci".
First published in Spanish in 1640. The first Latin edition published in 1642. Discourses on how to conduct oneself as a Christian ruler originally intended for the Spanish infante Baltasar son of King Philip IV. Each new chapter is introduced by a symbolic engraving in the form of a coat of arms with a Latin motto announcing the theme.
