8vo. With 37 partly folding engraved plates, 1 table (lacking vol. 7 with 7 plates and 1 table, a few minor tears, some foxing).
Contemporary half leather bindings, worn, gilt spines in compartments with black label and gilt stamp on labels on lower spines 'Classenske Bogsamling' and his blue stamp on titles. Some minor dampstaining and foxing. Title to vol. II with cut off signature. Vol. IV with some minor worming in the beginning. Notes on flyleaves. 6 volumes.

Linneaus was dissatisfied with the earlier "Leyden" edition of vol I in 1749, edited by Petrus Camper, and succeded at last to find a Swedish publisher (Soulsby).
Linneaus made sure that the long set of dissertations were published in a more comprehensive edition. This is 6 volumes (lacking vol.7 with 7 plates and 1 table) in first editons of the parts edited by Linnaeus himself. In 1785, a few years after his death, two more volumes were published by his pupil J. C. D. von Schreber. (Lindroth, Svensk Lärdomshistoria).
