Contemporary brown full calf, slightly worn, gilt and blindtoled frames on the covers, richly gilt spine in six compartments, partly faded spine labels, marbled edges.
Minor foxing. Old signatures on first free endpaper.
Soulsby 1280, Hulth 65. Linneaus was dissatisfied with the earlier "Leyden" edition of vol I in 1749, edited by Petrus Camper, and succeded at last to find a Swedish publisher (Soulsby).
Provenance: Lars Hall (1938-2018), prominent in Swedish public relations, designer and art collector, who studied at Konstfack in Stockholm. Hall was an Art Director and one of the founders of the advertising agency Hall & Cederquist AB in 1973. He also started Gallery Camera Obscura and later Lars Hall AB, (art direction and design). He was also an avid collector of books and Fine Art photography.
