Longo: `Men in the Cities´ grew directly out of a small relief that I made from at still from Fassbinder´s film, `An American Soldier´. It was from a the scene at the end of the movie where two gangsters get shot. There is a high impact kind of bang embedded in the image and, at the same time, it had an incredible fluid grace."
