Lithographs, coloured paper-half segments on paper-maché globe with plaster base. Base / stand of sculptured plaster, damaged but with loose parts. Paper browned from the varnish, some dampstains, damage to the globe with 4 bigger losses of paper and plaster, split /crack in part of the equator, another crack vertical ca 15 cms.

Diameter 80 cm, height ca 150 cm.

The most important globe-manufacture was founded by Dietrich Reimer in Berlin, 1852. He bought Carl Adami´s company which one founded in 1838. In the first time, to the middle of 1860´s, the company published terrestial and celestial globes planned by Adami. Heinrich Kiepert, who was born in Berlin and was the most famous carto-geographer at Reimer´s company, created globes with rich geographical and historical content.
Kiepert corrected the Adami´s globes at the first time, but from the 1870´s he made new globes. Therefore the 54 cm diameter globe were published in political and also physical version from 1879, printed from six colours. His first 80 cm diameter globe was published in 1883 and representing the Earth´s traffic network.
