Large 8:o (vol. I 220x120, vol. II 207x113). 72 handcoloured engraved plates after J. W. Palmstruch (complete, 2 in black and white, some slight staining and soiling, some minor foxing, a few plates with minor repair to outer part, a few with pencil strikes, plate 68 [Steglitsa] with some colour smeared, some offsetting from text to plates).
Later green half calf, richly gilt faded spine with gilt title, marbled edges (Hedberg, Stockholm). Title to vol. I repaired in upper and inner margin, 3 leaves in the beginning with repairs to margins. Some foxing and spotting. Bookplate Elof Förberg.

Erik Hallqvist, Östersund (född 1887), bokhandlare (nuv. ägares morfar), egen bokhandel sedan 1907. Han köpte Ahlins samling 1942 och blev då intervjuad i Östersund-Posten den 28 januari: "Allmänheten kanske kan få en uppfattning om samlingens storlek om jag nämner att jag behövde 14 fullastade taxibilar för att få hem böckerna".
