Folio. 418 x 335 mm. (12), 220, (2), (8), 228, (2) pp. 75 lithographed plates, each with descriptive text-leaf. Worn original half calf, spines faded and rubbed, cloth boards with gilt titles, all edges gilt. 2 volumes. Both volumes with owner´s signature of Karl Erik Åström, the first with a dedication from Axel Key to his brother major Carl Key.

Lacks the 1903 supplement as usual. The second volume was planned to consist of two parts, but only one was published.

Axel Key (1832-1901), Swedish pathologist.
Gustaf Retzius (1842-1919), Swedish naturalist, specializing in anatomy and histology. The collaboration with Key was his first major published work. It was awarded a price from l´Institut de France, and is considered a milestone in neurology.

Karl-Erik Åström (born 1919), Swedish neuropathologist.
