NORSK HYDRO - PHOTOGRAPHS. WILSE, ANDERS BEER. Album with 77 original photographs in silver gelatin, ca 160x220 mm., most photographs by Anders Beer Wilse, early 1900. All photographs mounted and with printed text with place and sometimes year mounted underneath, with tissue-papers (some partly faded, a few spots).
Dark red half calf album with title in gilt "Norsk Hydro", oblong 4to (c. 230x310 mm.), slight wear, small damage to upper part of spine. On first free endpaper a printed dedication (With the compliments of Norsk Hydro-Elektrisk Kvaelstofaktieselskab to Mr. S. H. Lawton).

Anders Beer Wilse (1865-1949), Norwegian photographer who documented Norway in the early to mid-20th century and also worked in the United States. His photographs are in several institutions in Norway, Norsk Folkemuseum, Nasjonalbiblioteket, Oslo Museum, Norsk Teknisk Museum, Preus Museum and Norsk Maritimt Museum.
"Norwegian photographer Anders Beer Wilse (1865-1949) has played an important part in the shaping of Norway´s national self-image.
