Beskrivning

(Horae: ad usum Romanum. Paris, Philippe Pigouchet, 19. April 1494. Almanach 1488-1508). Not complete, lacking title a.o.

Small 8vo (153x106 mm.). 81 ll. (of 94, lacking 13 leaves with woodcut illustrations have been neatly replaced by facsimile). With initials and capitals supplied in red or blue, and with woodcut illustrations surrounded by borders, several illustrations partly hand-colored. Written in Latin and French.
Later binding in early 17th. century vellum manuscript, partly worn, spine darkend, modern endpapers, traces of tape on inside of cover. Text with about 30 leaves with dampstains to lower part, some worming to lower margin and some repairs of those, 1 leaf with repaired tear [i8], 1 leaf with three small holes with loss of image and letters [g1], last leaf with worming in upper part, repair to upper and inner lower margin, a few leaves spotted or stained.

Goff H376, GW 13177. Together with some correspondence (3 letters) regarding the incunabula and the problems of finding facsimiles, a.o. (in Swedish) with Hans Sallander, first librarian at the Library at Uppsala University, and letters to Ravenna.

Provenance: Per Edward Gustafsson (1893-1966), Swedish collector from Vänersborg. Part of his large autograph- and manuscript collection was donated by himself to the library Carolina Rediviva at Uppsala University.
