Engraved double hemisphere world map, with allegorical representations of the four continents in the corners as well as native inhabitants and wildlife. C. 315x475 mm. German text on verso. Minor hole near centrefold, some folds to outer part of map, some browning and minor foxing.

This is Visscher´s first world map to be included in Dutch Bibles, this example comes from a German bible. In the Eastern Hemisphere are two celestial spheres and in the lower part of the Western Hemisphere text describes the discovery of America and recent voyages of discovery. Parts of Australia and Van Diemen´s Land are shown.
