Publisher´s yellow cloth with cover montage by Heartfield, partly worn, damaged spine, split inner front hinge, slightly loose in binding.

Together with a autograph letter signed from Heartfield to Tadeusz Polanowski, dated Berlin, N.W.7. Friedrichstrasse 129, Block D1, 11 November 1955 (Heartfield writes about their meeting and will send three small books to Polanowski). 1 page (folded, some browning).
Original orange paper binding with title on cover, some wear and creases to corner and upper part of cover, dustjacket slightly worn, small damage to lower part of spine, some minor tears, tape mending to inner part of spine.
First edition. Erbe und Gegenwart 6.
With contributions by A. Durus, W. Reiss and L. Aragon ("John Heartfield und die revolutionäre Schönheit"). "Unter den damaligen Verhältnissen konnte das Büchlein in Deutschland so gut wie nicht verbreitet werden.
Tadeusz Polanowski (1922-1995), Polish journalist, writer, translator. Born in Warzaw, lived in Sweden since 1970.
