BOOK OF HOURS - HORAE, USE OF ROME, IN LATIN AND FRENCH ON VELLUM (NOT COMPLETE).

Probably printed by Kerver in Paris about 1500 -1520. 84 leaves (of 92, lacks A1-7 [title, calendar and colophone] and D3, a complete book should probably read A-L8M4). Partly misbound.

Small 8:o (c. 154x100 mm.). Printed on vellum with metalcut figurative border, woodcut illustrations of which about 12 fullpage, textual area within frames about 110x60 mm., 26 lines. Initials in blue and red with gold. Cut in upper margin with partly loss of frame. Some other damages and wear, partly bleached, some foxing and spotting, about 5 leaves harder.
Later (19th century) brown morocco binding in style of the 16th century, worn, richly gilt, gilt spine in five compartments, defective in upper compartment, one old blank vellum leaf with contemporary annotations in the beginning.

Sold with all faults, not subect to return.
