CATHERINE II (1729-1796), EMPRESS OF RUSSIA ("CATHERINE THE GREAT"). Document signed (DS) (´EKATERINA´). Dated St. Petersburg, 24 August, 1786, in Russian (Cyrillic).
Appointment in Russian for captain Justus Friedrich von Heller (or von Geller?), who is appointed major. Signed by "Ekaterina" (Catherine the Great), dated St. Petersburg in March 1766. With some other notes and signatures, mostly to margin.
Leaf on vellum in oblong folio (c. 260x400 mm). Lacking red seal. Folded twice, vellum darkened and with some staining and creases.
