Original green blind-stamped cloth, gilt titles and decorations to spine. Some minor bumping to corners of covers. Spine with small crack at head and small damage at foot. Some cracks in the hinges. Original brown glazed endpapers. (Bookbinder´s label "Bound by Edmonds & Remnants London").
Edition printed i 2000 copies. With single leaf of advertisements at end.
First edition was published in 1859. This third edition contains some textual changes and additions, it was for example the first edition to contain "Historical Sketch of the Theory".
