Double-page handcolourede engraved map of the world, with numerous inset celestial and world maps. c. 510x585 mm. Wear to centrefold, some dampstaining ans soiling, impression slightly faded, minor hole and small tear to lower margin, some folds, some soiling and minor staining to margins, also some pencil notes to margins.

Double hemisphere world map cartography for the period. California is shown as an island and Australia is shown to be separate from New Guinea, Carpentaria and Diemens Land. Nova Britannia is shown as a separate island off the coast of New Guinea. Several explorer´s tracks are traced, including Magellan, Dampier, Tasman, Gaetani and Charmont. The map is enclosed in broad bands containing information on the winds and climates. Between the hemispheres are celestial maps and throughout the border are 26 smaller astronomical diagrams and world maps on various projections.
