DANCE OF DEATH WOODCUTS. (HOLBEIN, HANS, THE YOUNGER - CORROZET, GILLES). Imagines mortis. His accesserunt epigrammata, e gallico idiomateà Georgio Aemylio in latinum translata. Small 8:o (143x93 mm.). (30, last blank) ll. Title with woodcut printer's device, 53 halfpage woodcuts after Hans Holbein made by Gilles Corrozet.
Later (19th century) brown full mottled calf, blindtooled frames with gilt ornaments in the corners, gilt inner frames, gilt board edges, gilt spine in six compartments, all edges gilt. (signed B. Magnin on first endpaper).
VD16 C 5288 (2 copies). The first Cologne edition was printed in 1555 by the same printer, this is the 9th edition.
