Description
TILLY, JOHANN TSERCLAES VON (1559-1632), count and general in the Thirty Years´ War.
2 letters signed (LS), one letter to Ludwig Herzog zu Anhalt, dated Höxer, 30 April 1626, 1/2 page in folio (330x200 mm), with address page, in German. Folded, lacking red seal. some slight spotting.
The other letter dated Pirna, 26 April 1627, 2 pages in folio (330x200 mm), in German. Inner margin restored, partly with some loss of letters to the text on verso and the signature, some spotting, some words overwritten with ink, small loss of margin. 2 letters.
Provenance: Per Edward Gustafsson (1893-1966), Swedish collector. Part of his large manuscript - and autograph collection was donated to the library of Uppsala University Carolina Rediviva.
