4:o. (12), 1-389, (3) pp. Extra engraved double title, printed title with woodcut vignette, 1 engraved portrait of the author by G. Wingendorp after C. van Mander, engravings and woodcuts in the text.
Contemporary brown full calf, somewhat worn, some cracks in the joints, gilt edges of covers, gilt spine in seven compartments, some damages at head and foot, redspeckled edges.

A detailed catalogue by Ole Worm (1588-1654) of his "Wunderkammer", formed in Copenhagen. This Danish physician, linguist and natural philosopher collected many types of objects, especially natural history and manmade artifacts, which he carefully arranged and classified.
The catalogue contains the following descriptions of Chinese objects: Chinese porcelain is mentioned on p. 3, a Chinese compass is described on pp. 372f. with illustration, a Chinese ivory sculpture is mentioned on p. 378, and two Vasa chinitica are mentioned on p. 346.
