Johann Andreas von Schnebelin (died 1705), Austrian military leader and satirical author. Active as a commander in Imperial Service 1690-1705.
Von Schnebelin names literary sources like Thomas More, Jakob Bidermann and Joseph Hall. He most probably had a copy of Peter Schenk's map "Schlaraffenland"or "The Land of Milk and Honey" in front of him, as he wrote his famous satirical work (Franz von Reitinger, Literary Mapping in German-Speaking Europe, 2007).

Mezzotinta engraved oval portrait of von Schnebelin. About 324x218 mm. Fine impression, slight spot and some minor foxing to margin.
