WITH ENGRAVED MAP OF SCANDINAVIA. OLAUS MAGNUS. Historia delle Genti et della Natura delle cose Settentrionali. Nuovamente tradotta in lingua Toscana. Venice (Nicolini for Giuntas heirs) 1565.
Folio. (315x207 mm). (25), 286 (lacks leaf 138, supplied in facsimile) ll. 1 engraved map of Scandinavia, more than 450 woodengravings in the text, and two printer`s woodcut devices.
Full leather binding, probably 17th century, renovated and partly worn, old covers with gilt oval middle decor mounted, spine rebacked in compartments with title (probably 18th century), damages to lower part, flyleaves renewed, partly split joints. 4 leaves mended or with tear in upper margin. Leaf 224 with small printing error after that the leaf was folded in upper outer corner. A few leaves spotted in outer margins. Minor foxing. Old annotation in upper margin of title "Collegij Paris Societatis Jesu".

Second, but first complete illustrated Italian edition. Including the famous map of Scandinavia, here engraved and closely copied from the woodcut map used in the 1555 edition. It is based on the original map from 1537 in nine leaves.
