INUIT LIFE IN ALASKA. FLAHERTY, ROBERT. Untitled portfolio of 6 large-format photogravures after Flaherty´s work in Canada for  Revillon Freres, c. 1925.

Folio (520x340 mm). 6 photogravures on untrimmed sheets, c. 240x180 mm without margins (all with a small leaf with explaining text fastened to the margin). With printed text leaf. Loose as issued in folding wrappers and board box (wrappers soiled and browned, box worn and with some damages).

Revillon Frères (Revillon Brothers), a French fur and luxury goods company, founded in Paris in 1723. From 1908-1909 they opened fur trading posts in Siberia, Mongolia and Turkestan.
Revillon Frères financed American filmmaker Robert Flaherty´s (1884-1951) silent documentary Nanook of the North (1922), filmed near one of their trading posts at Inukjuak, Quebec on northeastern  Hudson Bay.
