CELESTIAL CHART. LUCHTENBERG, ANDREAS VAN - DANCKERTS, A. Nieuwe Hemels spiegel waer door den hemel, aerde en zee dadelik kan afgemeten werden Noyt gesien. Amsterdam c. 1700.
Engraved map in contemporary colours, size about 605x530 mm (platemark). Some spotting and browning, minor cracks in some areas due to oxidation, margin reinforced, repair to centrefold, lighter area in the middle, some folds.
Corners decorated with scientific instruments and diagrams of the Copernican universe and the Earth's orbit around the Sun. In lower part a dedication: "Frederico Tertio deo gratio Marcii Brandenburgi Prussiae, Magdeburgi Iuliae, Cliviae, Montium Pomeraniae & Luxci, nec non S.R. delectori et archicamerario. Cornelis Danckerts". To upper right: "Natuurlijk bewys van de Sons stilstand en Aerdyks voortgank."
