Folio (265x195 mm). (84), 815 (lacks last blank leaf) pp. 1 full page wood-engraved map (close cut in lower margin), 2 full page wood engraved printer´s devices. About 460 woodcuts in the text, of which 10 larger.
Contemporary vellum, worn, spine rebacked with paper over old manuscript vellum, damages in upper joint and head and foot of spine, dark green edges. 1 leaf mended in upper margin, 1 leaf with mended tear, 5 leaves with small damages in outer margin. Partly dampstained, harder on pp. 505-600, some foxing and browning. A few old marginal annotations or underlinings to text.

First edition. Collijn II: 221-227.
During the 16th century about 14 different editions in Latin, French, Italian, Dutch, and German were published. This book is still one of the most important sources of Northern customs and daily life of the time.
Olaus Magnus (1490-1557) was the last Catholic Archbishop of Sweden, which he left in 1524.
