Small 8:o (about 157x100 mm.). (4), 5-8, (4, last blank), 1.191, (1) pp. Title with woodcut printer´s device.
New gilt soft vellum, blank spine, speckled edges. Title mended in inner margin. Pages 9-10 mended in upper outer corner, pp. 31-46 small wormholes in upper margin, pp. 129-130 mended in upper margin, a few pages with some marginal dampstaining, minor foxing.

Cordier, Japonica pp. 98-99. A Venetian edition was printed the same year by Giolito. This is the rare first edition.
The book describes the first Japanese embassy to Europe in 1582-1590. It also describes the customs of the Japanese, and Japan.
