Pastiche binding in full leather on wooden boards, 19th century, renovated, old covers with gilt and blindtooled decor mounted, spine rebacked in compartments with title, worn and rubbed, partly split joints, tightly bound, signed on lower board (bound by T. Leishman, James St, Westminster). Title trimmed and slightly soiled, some minor spotting or slight dampstaining to margin, a few leaves with some slight creases, 2 leaves with raptures (ll. 103, 184). Bookplates on flyleaf Robert Blagden Hale, Hale Alderley.

Second, but first complete illustrated Italian edition. Including the famous map of Scandinavia, here engraved and closely copied from the woodcut map used in the 1555 edition. It is based on the original map from 1537 in nine leaves.
