Small 4:o (about 248x175 mm.). (12), 1-275, (1) pp. Title with engraved vignette.
Later (18th century) dark red mottled calf, somewhat worn, gilt frames and decorations to covers, gilt edges of covers, richly gilt spine in six compartments, small damage at head, all edges gilt, outer edge with fore-edge painting, picturing Pont d´Austerlitz in Paris, Half-title with some small holes in upper outer corner after erased signature, title with mended tear. Signature on title Jacobi Joye, bookplate of Keane Fitzgerald E Coll: Reg: Oxon.
Jean-Baptiste Saint-Jure (1588-1657), French Jesuit priest and writer.
Gaston Jean Baptiste de Renty (1611-1649), French aristocrat and philanthropist. He ruled the Compagnie du Saint-Sacrement (Company of the Blessed Sacrament) between 1639 and 1649, and was under the influence of the French Oratorians, through his confessor Paul de Condren. (Wikipedia).
