Later (20th century) redbrownish half leather, somewhat faded gilt spine in five compartments. A few wormholes in upper hinge. Signature on first endpaper.

Samuel Wells Williams (1812-1884), linguist, official, missionary and sinologist from the United States in the early 19th century.
