DOCUMENTS FROM VIBORG (VIIPURI OR VYBORG). (12). Collection of 12 handwritten documents from Viborg in the 1640ies (from the council etc). In large 4to. All renovated (with some damages and staining).
All loose in early 20th century half calf case with title on spine: "1640 talets Viborg. Ur ett gammalt band M S " [Viborg in the 1640ies, from and old manuscript] (bound at Bernhard Anderssons bindery 1942). Bookplate of Gösta Stenman (made by Helene Schjerfbeck).
The documents was taken from a 17th century binding with dissertations, where they were put as filling. It belonged to Barth. Lachmann who lived in Viborg in the 1640ies (eventually from the council). The manuscript leaves has been interpreted by Henrik Alm and has been renovated at the bindery of the National Archives in Sweden. To each manuscript leaf is an transcription of the contents.
Provenance: Gösta Stenman (1888-1947), wellknown art dealer, discovered among others Helene Schjerfbeck as an artist..
