(10), 94, (4),(7)-348 pp. Lacks second title. 7 engravings in the text part, 152, of which 2 folding, colour-printed stipple engravings, finished by hand after drawings by Pancrace Bessa (complete, numbered 1-149, 5 plates [70, 81, 86, 88 and 100] uncoloured as usual, a few with some foxing or soiling, some occasional minor spotting, 1 small marginal tear, text with some occasional foxing, especially the title leaves, some worming to margin at the end).
Contemporary brown blindstamped calf bindings, partly worn, vol. I with upper outer joint split, gilt spines, faded, gilt edges. 2 volumes.

Louis Claude Noisette (1772-1849), French botanist and head of the botanical garden at Val-de-Grace until 1798, he later also established his own botanical garden, becoming one of the leading gardening authorities in Europe.
