Contemporary brown half leather, minor wear, gilt spine in six compartments, red edges. Some browning in the corners of the title and a few leaves.
Soulsby 420. First edition. Lacking 4 plates.
Linné worked from the large herbarium which P. Herman collected on Ceylon and which is now in Copenhagen.
The "Nova Genera", describing 43 new genera, copied from the dissertation by C. M. Dassow (Soulsby 1469) are sometimes missing.
