Contemporary full calf binding, partly worn, some repairs, split joints, gilt spine in compartments and title label, red speckled edges. First title slightly browned, some spotting and browning. Engraved bookplate of William Constable of Burton Constable Hall.
First edition. Regarding the botanical garden in Leiden.
Provenance: William Constable of Burton Constable Hall (1721-1791), 18th century collector of scientific instruments, numismatics, natural history etc. His collections can be seen at Burton Constable Hall and the Hull City Museums.
