4to. (29x23 cm). 1 engraved frontispiece portrait of the author, 1 large folding engraved map (small tear in margin), 15 engraved plates, of which 5 coloured (all, a few spots, offsetting to text), 6 leaves engraved music.
Fine 19th century full calf bindings, only slightly worn, minor scratches on cover, richly gilt spine in compartments, gilt upper edge, otherwise untrimmed (bound by Rivière and Son). Bookplates of William Skrine Armiger, J. C. Dale, Kristofer and Martin Enckell. 2 volumes.

According to Bring two editions were printed the same year, this edition is the younger one with the printer´s name on bottom of the title leaves and on the last page of each part.
