"Christian Schmidt-Rasmussen uses a language of design that correlates with his surrounding world, filled as it is with the hoardings and advertisements of popular culture. Schmidt-Rasmussen uses different media in parallel, painting, drawing, computer animation, sculpture, and the written word. Under the influence of pop art and the iconography of the 1970s, his textual paintings confront the viewer with blunt statements, such as Solidarity, or Everything will be different. To begin with, the messages seem to regurgitate tired political slogans, but they might equally refer to the personal emotional life of the contemporary individual."
