A PURPLE-SPLASHED JUNYAO BOWL, the bowl is of deep, rounded form, and is covered inside and out with a glaze of pale milky blue, thinning to a mushroom colour, and with a purple splash on the interior, Jin/Yuan dynasty (1115-1368), diameter c. 22.5 cm

PROVENANCE:
From the collection of the Principal Sture Nydell (1891-1986) and his wife, Valborg Nydell (1905-2003). The bowl was purchased by Nydell from a Swedish captain in 1967. The captain got the bowl as a gift in Shanghai, 1949.
