A LONGQUAN CELADON 'TWIN FISH' DISH, of circular form carved to the exterior with vertical lotus petals rising to a broad everted rim, the interior moulded with twin fish, all covered in a crackled grey-green glaze, Song/Yuan dynasty, 13/14th century, diameter c. 12.5 cm
PROVENANCE:
From the collection of the Principal Sture Nydell (1891-1986) and his wife, Valborg Nydell (1905-2003). Purchased in Sweden 1965 from the collector Ostelius.
