A LONGQUAN CELADON-GLAZED BOWL, shallow with a flared rim to the curving well stamped with an indistinct roundel and a flowering branch, a glossy olive glaze applied everywhere except the cinnamon-burnt firing ring on the recessed base, Ming dynasty, 15/16th century, diameter c. 13 cm
PROVENANCE:
From the collection of the Principal Sture Nydell (1891-1986) and his wife, Valborg Nydell (1905-2003). The dish was purchased at an auction in 1960 at Sotheby´s, London, earlier in the collection of Guimaraes.
