A JUNYAO TRIPOD CENSER, the compressed pear-shaped body raised on three small curved feet below a slightly tapering neck and everted rim, covered inside and out with a crackled soft blue glaze splashed with a purple-red irregular patch and thinning to mushroom on the edges of the rim, Yuan dynasty (1279-1368), height c. 9.5 cm
PROVENANCE:
From the collection of the Principal Sture Nydell (1891-1986) and his wife, Valborg Nydell (1905-2003). The censer was purchased from Clayton in June 1965 in London.
