A CAST BRONZE FIGURE OF A CROWNED BUDAI, the laughing Buddha seated in rajalilasana on a domed base incised with lotus scrolls, the right hand resting on the raised right knee holding prayer beads, the left hand grasping a sack of treasures, dressed in loose robes opening at the chest to reveal the large belly, the figure adorned with a five-point crown housing dhyani-Buddhas, gold lacquer and red colour, late Ming dynasty, 17th century, height c. 40 cm
