Jacobus Schlachter is known for his serie of hunting scenes, signed and dated on the reverse Jacobus Schlachter / Manheim 1733, canvasses 107 x 137 cm, sold in Paris, Hôtel Drouot, Ader Picard Tajan, 29 June 1989, no. 42.
The artist executed several series of hunting scenes, among them a serie of 16 canvasses, ordered by Prince Carl-Philip von der Pflaz who decorated the Castle of Schwetzingen's summer recidence and pavillon de chasse built between 1700 and 1750 close to Heidelberg.
An engraving by Jacob Wanger describes a deer hunt organized in Würtemberg in honnour of the Countesse, 8 October 1748.
