Beskrivning

A Blue-Glazed Tripod Censer with Hardwood Cover and Stand , the compressed globular body raised on three short cabriole legs, with two rectangular handles, covered with a blue-grey glaze over the interior and exterior and completely covering the base, the reticulated cover (with jade finial) and stand are probably made of huanghuali, 17/18th century, height with cover and stand c. 36 cm, wear, firing defects, the cover with crack, the stand with repairs and loss of material

PROVENANCE:
Purchased 1944, from Orvar Karlbeck (1879-1967), a Swedish engineer working in China from 1906-1927, with railroad projects. Between 1928-1934 Karlbeck returned to China to conduct three collecting
expeditions buying objects for museums and private collectors in Sweden. 
Together with the original certificate note, written by Orvar Karlbeck and dated 19th December 1944.
