Contemporary vellum, partly soiled and worn, some spotting. Bookplate of Joannis Christopheri (Sweden).
First edition.
On the weights and coinage of the Jews, Greeks, Romans and Byzantines, including chapters on the constitutions of the metals and alloys used among the ancients. The author was the first Gresham professor of astronomy and a distinguished mathematician and antiquary.
