Gustavsberg’s Porcelain Factory – 200 Years
A historic 200-year milestone is being celebrated at Stockholms Auktionsverk Sickla. It was in February 1825 that the story of the Gustavsberg Porcelain Factory began, when Councilor Johan Olof Wennberg and merchant Johan Herman Öhman established a company for porcelain production on Värmdö. Two years later, the first test firing took place, and by 1830 over 30 properties connected to the company had been built. The rest, as they say, is history.
At Stockholms Auktionsverk Sickla, we can enjoy porcelain, stoneware, earthenware, and even an example of the enamelware produced in the postwar years.
The auction features works by Lisa Larson, Berndt Friberg, Stig Lindberg, and Bengt Berglund, with a focus on pieces from their time at the factory.
You are warmly invited to join in the celebration!
