Grand Tour
Once again it is time for that carriage to set off across Europe. The journey begins, as tradition dictates, at Stockholms Auktionsverk in Sickla. From there, the ride continues along the bumpy roads of the European map. We make a stop in Paris before reaching Italy, where we are treated to the richness of Mediterranean cultures and their abundant artefacts.
A mechanical little marvel for the desk is The Empire Clock from Atelier Smith & Sons in London. Ludwig von Langenmantel’s collection of Greek ceramics appears like a historical illustration of exceptional quality. And truly extraordinary is the 59 cm tall Late Roman sculpture depicting the goddess of love, Aphrodite.
Alongside these three distinguished examples, we present jewellery, oil lamps, cylinder seals, cuneiform tablets, figurines, masks, ushabti, amulets and much, much more. Just as it should be on a proper Grand Tour.
