Stockholms Auktionsverk 2025

Our year in review

Autumn 2025 marked the beginning of a new era for Stockholms Auktionsverk – the world’s oldest auction house – as we joined forces with Uppsala Auktionskammare. Among this year’s highlights were 44 lots each sold for over one million SEK, and we head into 2026 with strong momentum.

With meticulously curated auctions, combined with our collective expertise, Stockholms Auktionsverk offers a unique opportunity to maximise the value of every sale – regardless of category or format.

Over the past year, our auctions have exceeded all expectations. The autumn, in particular, has clearly strengthened our market position with increased market share and a strong presence in Fine Art, encompassing the most exclusive and valuable objects.

The two major highlights of the most recent season – The Modern Art & Design Sale and our week featuring The Curated Classics & Fine Jewellery Sale – brought together the best in art, design, Asian art, jewellery, books, manuscripts, and applied arts. Between them, they included over 2,000 high-quality lots and achieved an impressive sell-through rate. This is a clear testament to the strong appeal of our finely tuned curation, which drives demand, while also reflecting our passionate and tireless spirit of innovation.

Stockholms Auktionsverk’s auctions are also the most covered in Sweden. Our approach to tailoring and surprising in the packaging, curation, communication, and presentation of exceptional works engages audiences – and contributes to vitalising the auction market in Sweden. People are buzzing about auctions again. Our passion for what we do infuses everything we undertake, and we want as many people as possible to experience the fantastic opportunities, public experiences, and confidential encounters with leading specialists and well-known personalities that Stockholms Auktionsverk offers.

We are the personal auction house, yet simultaneously more internationally relevant than ever. International buyers accounted for almost half of the value achieved at the largest auctions during the most recent season – a strong testament to the strength of our global network, which reaches over one million clients across 180 markets.

In short, we see a highly active market and strong demand for attractive and exceptional objects.

Our ambition moving forward is to capitalise on our momentum and the strong position we have maintained throughout history, in order to shape the leading auction house of the future and a high-quality marketplace.

By combining over 350 years of tradition with innovation, Stockholms Auktionsverk continues to be the natural choice for both experienced and new collectors.

A carefully curated and inspiring universe where cultural heritage is valued – and where generations come together.
