Stockholms Auktionsverk Helsinki proudly presents the Spring 2025 Modern Art catalogue!

Among the paintings, it’s impossible not to be struck by the explosive colours of “Tundra’s Bells” by Reidar Särestöniemi – a monumental work from the early 1970s. Hanging nearby is a floral still life by Tove Jansson, blooming with soft pink azaleas. In complete contrast stands Kari Huhtamo’s striking steel sculpture, an impressive one and a half metres tall.

On the applied arts side, the selection is—as always—filled with remarkable pieces. The absolute highlight is Paavo Tynell’s ceiling lamp model 9018, originally designed for the restaurant at Finland House in Manhattan, New York.

Also featured are several decorative plates by Birger Kaipiainen from Rörstrand, a veneered tray by Tapio Wirkkala, a spectacular 18K gold pendant with a cabochon-cut moonstone by Bertel Gardberg, and of course, many fine examples of Finnish art glass.
