Fine Art and Antiques

Stockholms Auktionsverk Hamburg is introducing the summer of 2025 with an auction of selected art treasures and antiques. The offer ranges from exquisite 17th-century paintings to icons, books, sculptures and prints – including 5 copper engravings by Franz Michael Regenfus, which stand out for their fine hand-coloring, several early 19th-century portraits, marine paintings and interiors as well as an atmospheric evening sky by Worpswede artist Udo Peters. The selection also includes contemporary multiples, objects by Curt Stenvert, and a large-format painting depicting an olive tree by the dissident Russian artist and writer Maxim Kantor. Among Asian Art a Japanese folding screen consisting of 6 parts with fine painting from the Meiji-/Taisho-period is noteworthy. A large selection of fine Baroque and Biedermeier furniture, silver, and porcelain completes the offering. Among the items on offer are two KPM picture panels, striking for their finely painted depictions of the Prussian Queen Louise and the “Blind Nydia”. In addition to Murano glass objects, lovers of modern design will also find the “Liljevalchs” sofa by Svenskt Tenn, which was already shown at an exhibition in the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt in 1998 and is based on a design by Josef Frank from 1934.
