HISTORY
Harald Elof Notini (Sweden, 1879-1959) was a Swedish interior architect, designer and artist. Notini studied at Högre konstindustriella skolan in Stockholm (Konstfack) and continued his education with studies in France and Germany. Returning to Sweden, he was employed by Arvid Böhlmark's lamp factory, and it is as a designer of the company's light fixtures that he is most well known. Notini stayed with Böhlmarks for decades, and his production shows a designer who was up to date with current trends of the times. Notini mastered everything from the graceful classicizing style of the 1920s to the stripped-down rationalism of functionalism. Also his lamps from the softer, more organic modernism called Swedish modern, are today highly sought-after collector's items.
