Third or fourth edition of this toward the freemasonry very critical work, "...this work is the armory from which all
subsequent enemies of Freemasonry have derived their weapons" (Kloss). The first edition, also in french and not in latin, was published at Amsterdam in 1746. The title in english translation goes: "The freemasons crushed, a continuation of the book entitled The Order of Freemasons betrayed". In calling it a sequel of the book "L´ordre des Franc-Masons trahi" by Gabriel Louis Calabre Perau, Larudan has tried to attribute also the authorship of "Les francs-maçons écrasés" to Perau.
Carl Axel Emanuel Reuterholm (1803-64) was a civil servant and nephew to Gustaf Adolf Reuterholm, a dedicated freemasoner.
