Stockholms Auktionsverk Helsingborg Presents

Kuutti Lavonen

With over fifty graphic works by Kuutti Lavonen, Stockholms Auktionsverk Helsingborg offers a striking overview of Finnish contemporary art. Lavonen, one of Finland’s most distinguished printmakers and painters, served as Professor of Graphic Art at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki between 1999 and 2003. His artistic formation began in Urbino, Italy, during the 1970s and continued in Helsinki in the early 1980s, grounding his expression in both classical craftsmanship and modern sensitivity.

In addition to his printed works, Lavonen has created several major ecclesiastical commissions, where light and spirit are rendered through his characteristic subtlety of line and tone.

At Stockholms Auktionsverk Helsingborg, we meet Lavonen as both etcher and portraitist—an artist whose refined visual language continues to bridge tradition and modernity.
